We are watching for some good news. It sounds like you are very close now. Hang in there. In the meantime, get some cane poles and use the fishing line that you won. Build some pole holders along the river bank. Check them hourly or just sit there and watch the bobbers. Cane poles are still solid fishing tools. This will make the time go faster. Mom and Pop

Still Nothing ARGH!

Still no new news.  We had heard that the employees at the CCAA are working this Sunday.  In the last decade they always sent out the batch of referrals before they leave for the Chinese New Year.  So we have our fingers crossed that by the middle of next week we hear something.

Someone better start responding to these posts.  I'm starting to think I'm the only one reading these.

Pins and Needles

I defintely have to say, the closer you are that harder the wait is.  We are hearing more rumors on the "Rumor Queen" site that China is currently matching.  The last two years, referrals have come out right before Chinese New Year.  This year CNY is February 3 and our agency has told us that the CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) will be working this Sunday, something they normally don't do.  Apparently they like to have their desks clear right before the holiday.  I called my agency today and got no new information so that is why we rely on Rumor Queen (actual name is China Adopt Talk) for any snidbits of information.  Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong...but it's something.  There's another rumor they they may not make it to our log in date and it may be cut off right before us so that is also a concern.  It's hard to get stuff done around the house when your running to the computer every 10-15 minutes to check and see if there's any new rumors (work also, sorry Geri!)  Also on the RQ site are people from other countries with the time zone ahead of us.  So if someone from one of these countries hears something, they let us know before our agency even knows. 

Our LID (log in date) is 6/5/06 and they are up to 5/30/06.  Not every calendar day has people with LID's.  The next people getting referred is 5/30, 5/31, 6/2 and then 6/5 (US).  Now that doesn't seem like allot and it isn't but it is for all people around the world with these dates, not just the U.S.  It seems like with each month and year, the referral batches get smaller and smaller and smaller, thus the very, very, very long wait.

The Rumor Queen

We follow a website called "The Rumor Queen".  It's a website with members of the blog being on the list for a China Adoption.  They don't call it the Rumor Queen for nothing.  Yesterday someone posted a rumor saying they heard from their agency that there wouldn't be any referrals until the middle of February.  That caused quite a stir on the blog.  Finally last night someone different told them that referrals would be mailed by the end of the week.  Confusing yes.  All in all just rumors.  Finally when enough rumors come in the Rumor Queen rates the rumors on how believable they actually are.  If you click on the post title "The Rumor Queen" it will take you straight to the Rumor Queen site.

Strollers, High Chairs, bottles..OH MY

Holy cow!  Never knew there were that many different makes and models of strollers.  Many more selections than cars.  We finally bought one.  After we get our referral the next hard choice will be a car seat.  The car would be easier to pick out than the car seat.
